I was born in the old West Riding of Yorkshire and spent much of my free time with family friends and relations in the hamlet of Flasby, near Skipton. The fells were my childhood playground. Whilst at school I studied art, obtaining an A level and specialising in landscape composition. I did intermittent painting whilst bringing up a family and although living in various parts of England and Wales, the Dales were always the home I returned to. Finally, in 2010, my husband and I made the leap and returned to live here permanently.
I tried watercolour painting and immediately found inspiration in the Dales and on the fells, helped by the fact that all my life I had walked and explored the countryside here. I love the peace, the views where the world stretches in front of you for miles, the call of the curlew, and the buildings and history in a landscape farmed for hundreds of years.
