Simon's Seat from Skyreholme, Upper Wharfedale.

Simon’s Seat is the rocky gritstone capped summit of Barden Fell, situated above the small hamlet of Skyreholme, near Appletreewick.  Skyreholme is an old Norse name meaning bright water-meadow.

The hamlet can be found in a small dale containing Fir Beck, a tributary of the River Wharfe. Near by is Bolton Abbey and Barden Towers.
